LaKisha Michelle Simmons, Ph.D. is a historian of African American gender history specializing in Black girlhood, history of the family, history of sexuality and southern history in the 19th and 20th centuries. She is Associate Professor of History & Women’s and Gender Studies and the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor at the University of Michigan.
Cristina Pinheiro
Cristina Pinheiro is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (Universidade da Madeira) and member of the Centre of Classical Studies (Universidade de Lisboa). Her research interests are women and children in Classical Antiquity,Ancient and Early Modern medical treatises on gynecology and obstetrics, death, grief and motherhood. At present, she is the PI of the project „Gynecia: Rodericus a Castro Lusitanus and the ancient medical tradition on gynecology and embryology“, funded by FCT.
